• Your Wedding/Celebration date is not secured until the full deposit is paid.

• The deposit is usually a minimum of £40 or 50% of the total agreed price of the cake, once a preliminary design has been agreed. 

• The design can absolutely be adjusted along the way, assuming adequate notice is given, but the price may increase as extra details are added. 

• Any allergies must be stated clearly at the time of booking. Some sprinkles may contain fish or pork gelatin. 

• Care must be taken with larger sprinkles as these can sometimes be a little unforgiving on fragile teeth. 

• Some cakes may contain wooden skewers orr cocktail stick to add support for the cake, design or models. 

• Figures and flowers are for decorative purposes and should not be eaten. 

• Fresh lowers and foliage will be made cake safe before being added to any cake. These should not be eaten unless specifically edible flowers have been requested. Some flowers are toxic and will contain pesticide and are not recommended for consumption. 

• A deposit is non-refundable but a sympathetic concession may be applied if there are unforeseen circumstances arising resulting in the cake no longer being required or the date being changed. 

• Once the final design and price has been agreed and a deposit paid,  any adjustments to the cake regarding removing details or making it smaller will not necessarily result in a reduction in the cost. 

• There is no obligation to order a Wedding cake after you have attended a cake consultation meeting but the cost of the consultation is non-refundable. 

• If the date of your celebration is changed there is no guarantee Philippa’s Cakes will have the availability but will endeavor to complete the order wherever possible. 

• Concession circumstances will be assessed on an individual basis and Philippa’s Cakes reserves the right to keep the full deposit due to the cost of materials used, time spent and potential loss of earnings or for any other reasons. 

• Hopefully all wedding and celebration plans will go ahead without any hiccups but please do voice any concerns along the way and we can work together to resolve any issues and come to a fair and amicable agreement for all parties concerned. 

• Full payment of the cake should be received no later than 60 days before the wedding or the week before collection for celebration cakes please. 

• The price of the cake is not fixed if booked more than 6 months in advance. Due to the rapid increase in the cost of ingredients and supplies it may become necessary to adapt the overall price of a cake. 

• Any price change will be discussed and agreed by both parties before the order continues. I would not expect a price increase to be any more than the annual tax increase, estimated at around a maximum 5% and will be by necessity only. 

• Payments can be staggered in the months up until the final payment date if required. 

• If there are any concerns with full payment then please do discuss these as soon as possible so we can discuss your options. 

• If, in the unlikely event, you have any complaints or issues with your final cake design on the day then these must be addressed to Philippa directly within 48 hours of the agreed celebration date. Ideally via phone or text message. A photo or sample of your concerns is recommended. 

• If there is a concern regarding the flavour or taste of the cake on the day then the majority of cake in question must be returned uneaten within the 48 hours. It is recommended you store this appropriately in a sealed container or wrapped effectively for an adequate assessment of your concerns.

• Unfortunately responsibility can not be taken for the storage or cutting of the cake at the venue once the cake has been set up. Responsibility for this lies with the venue and staff on the day. Full instructions will be given to the staff where necessary, especially in exceptional hot weather circumstances.
